Nethermind is a blockchain research and engineering company with a focus on empowering enterprises and developers globally to innovate within decentralised systems. Headquartered in London, our flagship product, Nethermind Ethereum execution client, has since grown into the largest client securing over 30% of the Ethereum blockchain.
Nethermind offers strategic advisory and expertise to enterprises across Institutional DeFi, Blockchain Engineering, Tokenisation of Assets, Advanced Cryptography Research, Network Infrastructure, and AI Agent Frameworks, from initial concepts to successful implementation.
Founded in 2017 in London, Nethermind delivers advanced blockchain solutions that empower financial institutions globally to build and scale new business models in the digital asset economy. Our flagship product, the Nethermind Ethereum execution client, has grown to become the largest client securing over 30% of the Ethereum blockchain.
Nethermind’s growth has been marked by significant contributions to the digital assets and cryptocurrency ecosystem. We provide essential infrastructure tooling and developer resources while actively participating in community-led initiatives to promote blockchain adoption and innovation. Our partnerships with major industry players have resulted in the design and delivery of enterprise- grade solutions, from institutional DeFi to advanced Layer 2 scaling.
Our achievements include substantial contributions to the Ethereum Merge with the Ethereum Foundation, supporting the transition of the network from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake; developing infrastructure and consensus-layer optimisations for Gnosis Chain; partnering with Flashbots to enhance Ethereum’s fairness and efficiency in transaction processing through MEV- Boost integration; auditing numerous high profile protocols by Nethermindʼs Security team. In addition, Nethermindʼs execution client has expanded to support numerous Layer 2s, including Taiko, Optimism, and Starknet, playing a crucial role in bridging L1 and L2 scalability. Our recent joint venture with Brevan Howard’s WebN group led to the development of Twinstake, a non- custodial staking provider serving enterprises and institutions. In 2024, as part of Nethermindʼs strategic expansion, weʼve established an office in Scotlandʼs capital Edinburgh lead by Nathan Jay, our Head of Hardware Development.
At Nethermind, we deliver trust, expertise, and value to help enterprises navigate and thrive in the evolving digital economy. Nethermindʼs aim is to solve some of the most challenging problems facing the blockchain industry today.
