DataVita was founded in 2016 as Scotland’s first ever purpose-built data centre. The company was created to meet the growing demand for reliable, secure data storage and processing services in the region, and was designed specifically to deal with highly secure and complex workloads. Sustainability is important to DataVita, and the company has implemented various measures to minimize its environmental impact and promote energy efficiency. Danny Quinn
Managing Director
Danny Quinn is the Managing Director of DataVita, which he helped start 7 years ago as the first employee. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning of the business. With over 17 years of experience in the industry, Danny is a respected leader and expert in data centre management. Prior to his current role, he served as Head of cloud service at European Cloud service provider, where he played a key role in building and expanding their operations. Danny has a strong track record of delivering high-quality, reliable services to clients, and is known for his attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. He is passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in the field, and is committed to continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of his company’s data centre operations.
Graeme Logie
Operations Director
Graeme Logie is the Operations Director at DataVita and joined the team as employee number three. Working within the Critical Infrastructure industry for 25 years Graeme has worked in various roles designing, installing, maintaining, and managing critical infrastructure. Graeme earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering whilst studying at Glasgow Caledonian University and is also an active member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology. In recent years Graeme’s career has been focused on managing and building Data Centres for Oracle and DataVita. Graeme is now focused on growing the DataVita business, establishing the data centres as best of breed.
Jim Tobin
Head of Networking
Jim joined DataVita in March 2022 after spending 6 years as a lead network consultant, engineer and designer for various Police Scotland National Network projects. He is passionate about networking and particularly designing and implementing new network infrastructure. With a career in the networking industry of over 20 years, Jim has held a wide variety of positions, including Network Support Manager for Glasgow City Council/ACCESS, head of a Cisco and Microsoft IT Academy and Senior EMEA Network Engineer for Eaton.
Outside work Jim enjoys getting out into the countryside, either walking the hills of Scotland or long walks with his dog.
Raymond Setchfield
Head of Platform Services & Security
Ray’s career path has been varied which has allowed him to experience a lot of different industries within his 20-year IT career. This has provided him a unique perspective in the world seeing how things have changed and evolved within IT. Ray joined DataVita in December 2021 from Insights as a Security Architect and has a passion for Security, Infrastructure and Cloud Technologies which has provided him with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
For fun, or if you can call it fun. Ray likes to run. Always in training for a marathon, event or some crazy hill/mountainous run.
David Young
Business Systems Manager
David joined DataVita in March 2016 having held various posts in the IT Service Management and Support Industry. David’s most recent roles have been related to implementation, process control and management of various ISO and other industry standards.
David is a keen golfer and can usually be found hacking his way around Ayrshire golf courses in his spare time.
James King
Business Development Director
James joined the team in September 2022 from Scottish Futures Trust where he created and ran the successful Host in Scotland initiative. Prior to this James worked in Project Finance at PwC and is a Chartered Accountant. James is passionate about growing our business relationships and creating value for our customers.
James is a keen musician, playing guitar, bass and drums and loves watching rugby – particularly his beloved Ulster!
Dylan Murray
Head of Service Operations
Dylan joined DataVita in April 2022 as a life-long IT enthusiast. He graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a degree in Cyber Security & Networks (with merit) and has built a diverse 10-year career in the industry. Ranging from computer and mobile device repair to thriving in technical and customer facing roles for various MSP’s. Dylan has leveraged his varied skillset to assist in delivering large scale infrastructure projects across the Public and Private sector from a technical deployment and service delivery perspective.
Dylan is an avid gamer and guitar player – with a special interest in acoustic rock and blues/bluegrass music. You would expect to find Dylan tuned into a live MMA event in the wee hours of the weekend which is the unfortunate downside of being a fan from the UK!
