Soar is a spin out from the November Twenty One Group which includes SwarmOnline, an enterprise mobile and web application software development company based in Edinburgh.
Soar was formed in 2017 by award-winning Scottish entrepreneur, Andrew Duncan. While leading Swarm, Andrew was approached by a number of credit unions to build them a mobile banking app. After researching this market further, it was apparent that this type of technology was really lacking in the ethical sector.
From this realisation, Soar was formed, and we have been working with ethical institutions ever since to build a better financial society where credit unions, building societies and responsible lenders can gain access to innovative technology.
Andrew Duncan
Andrew Duncan is the CEO and Founder of Soar. He has been building and growing companies since his mid-twenties and is a globally recognised specialist in technology and app development. He has spoken at international events, including lecturing in Silicon Valley and has attended MIT by invitation. Andrew is a prominent figure in the Scottish technology space, and he continues to put Scottish tech expertise on the global map.
Eva Luckhiram
Eva Luckhiram is Soar’s Chief Product Officer. Eva was one of Soar’s first employees and previously worked for Soar’s sister company, Swarm Online. At Swarm, Eva led the team as Engineering Lead and was involved in the creation of bespoke web and mobile applications. Her knowledge and experience of product design and app development has been instrumental in building the Soar product.
Paul Theurer
Paul Theurer currently leads all technological innovation at Soar as Chief Technology Officer. Paul has experience of working in both multi-national organisations and small enterprises and previously worked for Soar’s sister company, Swarm Online, where he led numerous projects and developed mobile and web applications for a range of blue-chip clients.
Laura Hillhouse
Laura Hillhouse is the Marketing Manager at Soar. She joined the Soar team at the end of 2018 and has been working to improve the visibility and reach of Soar in both the ethical banking and the Scottish FinTech markets. Having led marketing projects in the finance industry and for another technology start-up, Laura has extensive knowledge of planning and implementing marketing strategies for fast-paced businesses.
Emma Mc Bride
Emma Mc Bride is a Business Development Manager for Soar. She plays a key role in developing and implementing sales strategy as well as providing support to customers. Emma has seven years of experience with Emirates Airlines where she became an expert in cross-cultural communication and first-class customer service.
Gary Collins
Gary Collins is a Business Development Manager at Soar. He is an experienced relationship manager with a wealth of experience working in the banking industry. Gary brings Soar important knowledge of how banks operate and manages Soar’s customer relationships whilst helping to develop and implement sales strategy.
Alexandra Moisii
Alexandra Moisii is lead digital designer at Soar. She has past experience at Godaddy, first as a web designer and then as lead graphic designer. With her strong technical background in UI, UX, and graphic design, Alex is well placed for designing Soar’s web and mobile applications.
Jane McCusker
Jane McCusker is an accomplished, ISTQB qualified, Senior Test Analyst at Soar with nearly two decades’ experience in the industry. She specialises in a range of testing disciplines in the Financial Services sector – expertise which is put to good use rigorously testing Soar’s applications.
